Roddy and Fealan’s story is rich in emotion, love and experiences that I loved from beginning to the end. As with all of Kinsale’s books she does not feel the need to explain everything, and while some of the plot could have been better done all in all I think the book is really something special.

She has known him forever and also has a secret crush on him. And I guess, this is what lowers my heart.

I can see the sea, and the rolling green hills, the dry hard ground that Roddy digs in with her ever loyal MacLasser by her side. Kinsale also uses animals to stunning effect. Thanks to Minerva for BR-ing this with me. Published March 2nd by Avon first published I’m so happy that Sourcebooks will be releasing Ms. His home in Iveragh is Gothic and appropriately spooky, and I loved the atmosphere of the Irish countryside.

Most of the supporting characters are presented in neat little encapsulations by the heroine.

But i admired our heroine for never making a fuss about it, never hating her husband but instead trying to read him, trying to understand him. I put it down midway through and the only thing that made me pick it back up was the fact that I bought it and felt I should finish it. He is truly an indecent, cheating male and why does that sounds so appealing to me?

But this is actually a wonderful book. The love interests are united early on. And it would have been even better if the whole misunderstunding thing hadn’t occured at all and if the Geoffrey dude wasn’t part of the book at all: She hates it there and is certain that it’s no place for Roddy.

The explanation for Faelan’s lifelong memory lapses as well as what happened with Roddy’s “gift” felt glossed over to me and not really given the attention and weight either deserved.

The uncwrtain positive thing I can say about this book is that I’m uncertain about it–and for me to say that about Laura Kinsale is pretty big. While his reputation would lead most women to avoid him, Roderica Delamore isn’t like most other women. Being married to linsale husband whom everyone hates is hard, being able to read all their opinions is difficult.
