Adequate means shall be provided for the draining and venting of pressure equipment where necessary:. Requirements relating to notified bodies and recognised third-party organisations. The equipment manufacturer shall take appropriate measures to ensure that the material used conforms with the required specification.

Within three months, a Member State or the Commission may provide comments giving its reasons. Member States shall not, on grounds of the risks due to pressure, prohibit, restrict or impede the making available on the market or the putting into service under the conditions specified by the manufacturer of pressure equipment or assemblies which comply with this Directive.
