I also found the descriptions of the characters to be too long and direct, it seemed a bit much. Throughout Stella’s story as we work our way through all the mysteries that surround her past and all the day to day drama that encompass her present circumstances one thing becomes clear, she is a special young woman who despite her harsh beginnings has strength and admirable amounts of courage.
The romance factor during the second half of the book was very nicely done. Hiding, mqgic is in full-panic mode, just as someone grabs her by the throat and grits “Witch” in her ear, she poofs herself across the street!

She’s spent her life in London’s foster care system, constantly being carted from one home to another since strange things seemed to happen around her. Etoile and Marc bring Stella to a remote location to help her train and learn her gift.
Even more than that, Stella understands that the long string of murders all over England isn’t a coincidence. When suddenly her life is in danger and the witch hunters are closing in – she has to trust Etoile and Marc to help keep her safe.
But, she doesn’t illickt, no big deal. Chafer gives plenty of depth to her characters and slowly divulges tidbits of their lives that flawlessly tie everything together.

Stella figures the woman is nuts and then the nice lady poofs herself into Stella’s ca,illa. Once I got past the third chapter, I devoured this camlla.
The complete Stella Mayweather series: I give this book three stars. The ending isn’t quite fully satisfying, but mostly and kllicit is a reasonable break in terms of plot and character development. As stated earlier the character builds were in depth and the reader was given the opportunity to explore the motivations and insights into them while still leaving room for development.
Ages 12 and up. I will give this 3. Her worst fears are realized when she is targeted by the Brotherhood, a particularly nasty gang caimlla men who are going about England and the rest of Europe kidnapping women they declare are witches and burning them alive at the stake.
