My main problem is that I cannot possibly live long enough to produce work from the amount of ideas that come into my head.

The knitting patterns were lovely, although beyond any project I would take on. I haven’t read it all yet, but I spent an enjoyable hour looking through it knitring checking out the gorgeous patterns.

I plan on making a bunch of different swatches of her Aran and Celtic designs to make a quilt. New and Expanded Edition is a great knitting resource for Aran and Celtic designs to incorporate into your own knitting patterns.

I was one of the lucky ones who received this book as a Goodreads First Read Giveaway. I did get this book for free but if I had seen it in a shop and browsed through the second section with the many cable stitches, some of which I haven’t even seen before in many years of knitting, I would have bought staromre book. Brilliant color photographs depict all of the finished caps, sweaters, and shawls.

An excellent history of Aran knitting along with lots of stitch options, and patterns. For those that are ready for the next step, I would recommend this book. Want to Read Currently Reading Read. It starts with explaining charts which is essential with cables and has illustrations when needed to clarify. This is the best resource on Aran knitting that I have come across. Thus it is a wonderful and fascinating blend of a history book and a knitting book, rolled into one.

Are you still discovering “new” aspects of knitting and fabric arts from other cultures? The instructions are VERY clear, line by line, and I think even a beginner would be able to follow them.
