The language is still great, and I must give kudos to the Finnish translator. In the game, women continue to walk around naked for no good reason at all, there is an attempt at exploiting the sexualization of Ciri Ciri!

After all, what use is a monster hunter without the tools of his trade? Sapkowski’s delightful sarcasm and the solid worldbuilding derived from the previous books partly made up for the lacking in substance.

Refresh and try again. Anyhow, this contains a couple short stories that Witcher fans should like or at the very least find interesting: While this is the eighth one overall when you include all the novels and collectionsit is also something of a standalone prequel, taking place between the short stories featured in The Last Wish and well before the events of the main saga.

Book which I can strongly recommend to every Witcher’s fun. Which is understandable when you spend your time writing about kings and mythical monsters. Even though I haven’t got as involved in the plot as with other parts of the saga.

It involves a lot of the elements you would expect—shady sorcerers, political intrigue, monster killing, and sexy times. En sus salsa, vaya. T You can either read it after ‘baptism of fire’ or -preferably- after, ‘Lady of the Lake’. There are dick mages who use genetics and sorcery to produce new species and creatures mostly of the creepy murdery kind and don’t care what happens to their creations sapmowski they run away andrzfj It’s not like video games are made by white males for equally white males or something, even if women continue to be the top consumers of video andfzej.

I got almost exactly what I’ve expected when I finished reading the book. However, in my opinion it’s the worst part of the saga. This book is not yet featured on Listopia.

The writing style also took a little bit to get used to, and there were many times that con This is a difficult book to rate. He also messes up the chronology at the end, quite beautifully.

Nevertheless, some special fantasy sauce is m Book which I can strongly recommend to every Witcher’s fun. A longer sdzon can be found at Bite Into Books I do realize that this book is 0 in a series.

They almost read as a slice-of-life story of someone who is trained as a monster hunter and consorts with kings are sorceresses in a world of dark magic and hideous creatures.

Anyhow, this contains a coup This book is sszon be released in in English, but it’s already been published in Spanish, Italian, French and Szon amongst others. I can’t tell which plot line was the ma Season of Storms takes place between the pre-stories the Last Wish and the Sword of Destiny.

Aunque se trate de una precuela no recomiendo leerlo antes de la saga. GEEZ, I wonder why! The storytelling is surprisingly light when compared to the dark content of The Witcher series.

Geralt exists in an ambiguous moral universe, yet manages to maintain his own coherent code of ethics. In fact, that might be part of the problem.

The author is a huge sexist. Are you ready for the big reveal? Overall, if you want more of a Witcher fix like Burx did then it’s not a terrible book to pick up, but compared to the short story collections and the main novel series it definitely falls flat.

W oczekiwaniu na „Sezon burz”. 11 świetnych cytatów z Andrzeja Sapkowskiego |

Season of Storms [Nov 15, ] 11 14 Nov sezzon, This one was not my favourite Hexer book, but in total it was okay. Unfortunately, this also means that his swords are taken from him. View all 3 comments. There’s real I was really excited to come back to the world of The Witcher with this side novel being translated to English.

In feel it’s more like the short stories than the saga, although there are fewer folktale elements and a more politics in it. In other words, Season of Storms is full of your usual Witcher shenanigans. This book is to be released in in English, but it’s already been published in Spanish, Italian, French and German amongst others. There is a through-plot about a group of sorcerers using magical experiments to make deadly magical creatures which is cool and right up Geralt’s ally but most of this book is boring and very low tension.

It was nice to read once but it’s far from the best Witcher stuff. Ian Andrzejj Comes out the 22nd! Very clearly the reader is supposed to identify with Geralt if they’re male or fall in love with him if they’re female, and sorry for being so binary here but you get what I mean. The book regained some shards of it’s honor by the end, turning out to be decent.

And all my beef with this book is also my beef with the entire series. Likewise, when it comes to the relationships he forges, the villains he fights, or the monsters he kills, all of them feel rather like superficial throwaway encounters in the context of this novel.

It feels very strongly like a reaction to the games bruz the way the Witcher franchise has been taken over by other creators, and adopted by new types of fans.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. Open Preview See a Problem? But I was kinda disappointed with sezln one. The real driving plot of the novel is not the court conspiracy and sorceresses because Geralt, and the reader couldn’t give less of a shit about all of that but really about Geralt trying to reclaim his swords.

The story was okay-ish. Sapkowski studied economics, and before turning to writing, he had worked as a senior sales representative for a foreign trade company. I was supposed to write the review of a book in the language I’d read it.
