We will set meaningful goals but pace the changes so that everyone can adjust smoothly. Having a clean, green and healthy environment will also help Singapore to attract talent and investments. The general feedback that the committee has received so far is that we should seek to make the existing stock of buildings more energy and resource efficient, as they form the bulk of our built environment.

First, we can be more efficient in using resources to grow our economy and stay competitive.
